The Acoustic Memory Project is a concert/performance by art therapist, Dr. Bruce L. Moon. It is a collection of original music and spoken-word, recounting the early days of art therapy in the United States and the formation of the American Art Therapy Association. It was first performed at the National Conference of the American Art Therapy Association in 2002. Featured in the video are songs focused on a number of art therapy pioneers, including Don Jones, Margaret Naumburg, Elinor Ulman, Edith Kramer, and Bob Ault (among others). The 50-minute performance aims to portray history in the oral tradition of folk music with elements of humor, and a spirit of gratitude. Dr. Moon is an Honorary Life Member of the American Art Therapy Association and an active singer-songwriter who performs regularly at colleges and universities and small concert venues.
